Last updated: April 1, 2022

The procedures for joining and withdrawing are as follows.

Joining procedure

1.For foreign residents aged 20 to under 60, please complete the procedures at the Citizens Division of Inagi City Hall and then apply for membership at the Insurance and Pension Division.
2.For dependent spouses of Employees' Pension participants, enrollment procedures are conducted through the spouse's workplace, so please consult with your workplace.
If you are no longer a dependent spouse, please go to the city hall to change your classification from a Category 3 insured person to a Category 1 insured person. For the type change procedure, you will need identification documents (My Number Card, Residence Card, etc.), Basic Pension Number Notification or Pension Handbook, and Certificate of Loss of Qualification.
3.If you lose your eligibility for the Employees' Pension, you will need to submit a notification of enrollment in the National Pension. Please bring your identification documents (My Number Card, Residence Card, etc.), Basic Pension Number Notification or Pension Handbook, and documents showing the date of loss of eligibility (separation slip, certificate of loss of eligibility, retirement certificate).

Qualification loss procedure

If you decide to work for a company after enrolling in the National Pension Plan, please notify the company along with your Basic Pension Number Notification Form or Pension Handbook.
