Please tell me about joining and withdrawing from health insurance in remote areas.

If you are away from your family and are in long-term hospitalization, you will be subject to the following special address exceptions.
If you are a member of National Health Insurance and have been hospitalized or admitted to a hospital or welfare facility for a long period of time away from your family, special address exceptions will be applied. You will be required to complete procedures for joining, withdrawing, and receiving benefits.
Please bring the following documents with you when completing the procedure.

• A copy of the residence record of the address after hospitalization (admission)
• Hospital stay (residence) certificate
• Identity verification documents (driver's license, passport, My Number Card, etc.)

Note: A power of attorney is required when someone from another household comes to complete the procedure.

Exceptions to the address are also applied to students who live outside the city away from their parents to attend school.
