If the perpetrator can be identified, in principle, the perpetrator should bear the full amount of medical expenses for injuries sustained by the perpetrator. However, if the compensation is delayed, you can temporarily receive treatment from the National Health Insurance. However, the National Health Insurance will bill the perpetrator later, so be sure to notify the insurance and pension division of the city hall.
Please note that if a settlement has been reached or if you have received medical expenses from the assailant before you notify the National Health Insurance and Pension Division, you will not be able to receive treatment.
