The COVID-19 Temporary Regional Revitalization Grants and the Regional Revitalization Temporary Grants for Priority Support in Response to Price Rise (hereinafter referred to as the "Temporary Grants") are provided by the national government to enable local governments to implement effective, efficient, and necessary projects in a tailored manner in accordance with local conditions, with the aim of preventing the spread of COVID-19, supporting local economies and the lives of residents affected by the spread of infection, responding to business continuity and employment maintenance, revitalizing local economies based on "new lifestyles," revitalizing local economies through the transformation of economic structures and realization of a virtuous cycle toward the post-COVID era, and supporting consumers and businesses affected by rising prices of energy, food, and other commodities.
Local governments are required to publicly announce the status and effects of projects that were implemented using special grants after the projects are completed. When making such announcements, they are to do so in a manner that is broad and transparent, such as by posting the contents on their websites so that the public can view them.
For this reason, we will be publishing information about the implementation status and verification of the effectiveness of projects that have utilized special grants.
