In March 2006, the city formulated the Inagi City Comprehensive Health and Welfare Plan as a comprehensive plan for health and welfare. The plan is made up of five plans: a Community Welfare Plan, an Elderly Health and Welfare Plan, a Welfare Plan for the Disabled, a Child-rearing Support Plan, and a Health and Medical Plan.
In the health and medical care sector, this comprehensive welfare plan is based on the spirit of the Health Promotion Act, which came into force in 2002, and incorporates the city's health promotion plan based on the national "Health Japan 21" and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "Health Promotion Plan 21." It sets out guidelines for promoting health-building activities in which citizens take the initiative, and has developed a variety of projects aimed at extending healthy life expectancy.
Subsequently, in March 2012, we formulated the ``Second Inagi City Health and Welfare Comprehensive Plan,'' and then in March 2018, we formulated the ``Third Inagi City Health and Welfare Comprehensive Plan,'' which covers the six-year period from fiscal 2018 to fiscal 2023, and have been working to promote the plans.
With the current planning period expiring at the end of fiscal year 2023, and with the April 2018 partial amendment of the Social Welfare Act, which serves as the legal basis for the Comprehensive Welfare Plan, the position of local welfare plans was revised to correspond to higher-level plans in the health and welfare fields such as the elderly, disabled, children, health, and medical care, and based on the spirit of the national "Health Japan 21 (Third)," the "Inagi City Health Promotion Plan" will be formulated as a new individual plan in March 2024.
