Q&A overview

Contents of question Answer
[Progress of land readjustment project]
It has been about 30 years since the Enokido District Land Readjustment Project began. What is its current progress?
・The land readjustment project is proceeding with a long-term plan. We have been working toward the goal of completing the project next fiscal year, but it is difficult to achieve this goal, and we would like to report this to the City Council in the future.
・Although there are various challenges, we are generally on track.
[About flood damage measures]
In the explanation at the beginning, it is said that the water gates of the Misawa River may be closed during heavy rains, but have they ever actually been closed in the past?
- In the event of a typhoon, etc., the water level is monitored and closed. If this is not done, there is a risk that the water level of the Tama River will rise and cause it to flow backwards.
・However, it cannot be said that flood damage will never occur, and in the future, efforts will need to be made to improve drainage for rainwater.
・This involves constructing dedicated sewage pipes to drain rainwater, which requires thick pipes and requires a huge amount of cost and time. I think we need to make plans and work towards the future.
[About street trees]
Tree branches along the main ridge from Yanoguchi Station to City Hall are weak, and after a typhoon, broken branches litter the road. When constructing new roads in the future, I would like the city to consider the types of trees on the road.
- Regarding street trees, there is an overall layout plan for city roads, and they are installed according to the plan. As you know, the One Trunk Line is a metropolitan road, but I think the metropolitan government probably has plans for it as well.
・Inagi has an extremely large amount of greenery, including street trees, and maintenance and upkeep costs are extremely high.
[About weeds on the ridge main line]
A green belt has been established at the Yanoguchi intersection of the main ridgeline, but it is overgrown with weeds. It is the gateway to Inagi City, so please keep it clean. I wish the city would take care of mowing the grass.
・We would like to make a strong request to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and ask for their response.
・The management of Tokyo's roads is a task that must be carried out by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and for the city to take over this responsibility is an inappropriate use of the precious tax dollars received from citizens. Request the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to take action through the relevant department.
[About traffic measures]
The road under the elevated bridge near Yanoguchi Station (near Sukiya) is a site where many traffic accidents occur. Isn't some kind of countermeasure necessary?
・The area you pointed out is still in the middle of the land readjustment project, and the townscape is not yet complete.
・Toward completion, we would like to do everything we can to reduce risks.
[About public facility usage fees]
I heard that they are considering raising the fees for public facilities, but how much will the increase be?
- Due to the consumption tax increase, we are currently reviewing usage fees and fees. However, it is not a uniform amount or percentage increase.
・From the perspective of sustainable administrative and fiscal management, we are considering not only the tax increase but also the full cost concept, which includes equipment maintenance and management.
・Please note that as this involves amending the ordinance, the process will proceed after deliberation by the city council.
