On Sunday, July 15, 2012, a screening meeting was held in the Kita-Ryokuchi Park parking lot.
``The fire point is the target in front, the water tank is on the rear right side of the pump truck, the double-wound hose is extended with the hands wide, and we get on board!'' The four members heard a loud voice from the conductor and were given an assumption with a sense of urgency. begins extinguishing the fire quickly.
Firefighting operation methods are a procedure that involves repeatedly practicing and memorizing a series of operating methods in order to ensure a chain of command and perform accurate operations at a fire scene where there is confusion due to crowds and noise. Although some areas use small portable pumps, Inagi City has implemented a pump vehicle operation method that uses fire pump vehicles. It used to be held every year, but now it is held every other year.
The term of office for fire department members is two years, and this year is the year of re-election. It is a time when each branch welcomes many new members and becomes more active, but it is also a time when practical experience is lacking. Therefore, it is extremely important to start training soon after the member reelection in April to ensure the safety of new members.
This year marks the 27th time this review committee has been held since the first one was held in 1972. Many of our seniors have overcome rigorous training and improved their technical standards. Inagi City's firefighting techniques have evolved over time and are now at a level that allows them to place highly in the Tokyo Firefighting Techniques Competition.
At this competition, the fifth division (Sakahama) won for the second time in a row, and it was an excellent performance based on their experience of participating in last year's metropolitan tournament. I heard that the teams that came in second place and below also showed great skill and their scores were very close.
As an alumnus, it was a day that made me proud to see the young members of the Inagi City Fire Department firmly inheriting the good tradition of strict discipline, bravery, and high morale.
Thank you to all the members for your hard work and for your inspiration!
