Inagi City plans to start separate collection of plastic waste from 2025, and to further promote waste reduction and recycling.
Currently, plastic waste generated from general households, etc. is separated into ``combustible garbage'' for soft items and ``non-combustible garbage'' for hard items, collected and transported using designated paid collection bags, and then incinerated at the Tamagawa Sanitation Association. We perform thermal recovery, which generates electricity and recovers heat from the heat generated during incineration.
In the future, in order to promote resource circulation related to plastics, we will create new plastic waste that is suitable for recycling from among ``combustible garbage'' and ``non-burnable garbage'' with the understanding and cooperation of citizens. Please separate the waste into designated paid collection bags for garbage, and after collection and sorting, it will be recycled.
In order to solve the environmental problems we are facing on a global scale, to protect limited resources, reduce the burden on future generations, and create a sustainable society, we are reducing the amount of plastic waste that is currently being incinerated. Separate collection and recycling efforts.
By separating and collecting "clean items made only of plastic materials" from burnable and non-burnable waste, recycling becomes possible, reducing the burden on the global environment, reducing waste, and cutting down on CO2 emissions from the incineration of plastic waste.
In addition, as a countermeasure to the problem of marine plastic waste, as shown in the photos and illustrations below, by getting into the habit of treating plastic as a resource on a daily basis, it will have the effect of encouraging environmentally conscious behavior, such as not littering.
From April 2020
On July 12, 2020, the Inagi City Waste Reduction Promotion Council submitted a report to the Mayor of Inagi regarding "promotion of further waste reduction and recycling."
The city will use this report to implement separate collection and recycling of plastic waste.
Reiwa 3 has become increasingly important to further promote domestic plastic resource circulation in response to issues such as marine plastic waste, climate change, and the tightening of waste import regulations in other countries. The “Act on Promotion of Plastic Resource Recycling” was enacted in June 2020 and came into effect on April 1, 2020.
Plastic bags, containers, packaging, and products
We collect plastic waste suitable for recycling.
Please note that "container and packaging plastic" and "product plastic" will be collected in bulk without being separated.
Plastic containers and packaging refers to plastic "containers" and "packaging (wraps, bags)" that are no longer needed once the contents (products) have been removed or used up.
However, this does not include plastic bottles for beverages, soy sauce, etc.
Examples: Lunch box containers, snack bags and other bags, shampoo containers, etc.
