Tips for taking out trash to prevent it from being disturbed by animals

◆ Using bird-proof netting
Do not just cover the garbage with the netting, but make sure it completely encloses it. Place weights or other objects on the edges of the netting to ensure there are no gaps.

Bird-proof netting is distributed free of charge by the Living Environment Division, so please come to the office if you need one.
This will be provided free of charge for the first time only to those who live in a detached home.
Note: From the second time onwards, you will need to purchase the tickets individually.
Note: Bird-proof netting is not provided to residents of apartment buildings, so please check with your housing manager and ask about bird-proofing measures.

◆Making food waste invisible
Crows have excellent eyesight and can recognize reddish colored or wet objects as food.
Drain the water from food waste thoroughly, place it in a small bag, wrap the bag in newspaper or something similar, and place it in the center of the garbage bag.

◆Put out your garbage in accordance with the established rules.
If you put out your food waste the day before collection or at night, the garbage will be left there for a long time, giving crows time to search for food.
If possible, please put your garbage out at the collection point after light has cleared on the designated morning, by 8:00 a.m.

Precautions when installing bird netting

Once the net has been installed, be sure to secure it with weights or other objects to prevent it from being blown away by the wind and to ensure that it does not become a hindrance to pedestrians.
We ask for your cooperation in maintaining proper waste disposal and a clean environment.
