It can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, from cycling beginners to race regulars. Please feel free to join us!
Saturday, September 28, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Inagi Pair Park (550-1 Higashinagumanuma, Inagi City)
A new cycling map conveying the charms of the Tama region, created by young employees of JR Chuo Line Community Design Co., Ltd., will be made public and distributed.
We will also be holding an event based on this map, where we will ride the course shown on the map together with bicycle adventurer Ryohei Oguchi. The deadline for applications for the actual ride event is Wednesday, September 18th. Don't miss it!
Note: The linked news release PDF states that the deadline for applications for the actual race event is Sunday, September 8th, but it has been extended to Wednesday, September 18th. The correct deadline can be found on the application form.
(1) Morning session 9:00 a.m. (2) Afternoon session 1:00 p.m. Inagi Pair Park, in front of the Inagi Nashinosuke Clock Tower
Original map cover image to be distributed
Five young station staff who usually work at different stations - Inagi-Nagumanuma Station on the Nambu Line, Musashi-Sakai Station, Higashi-Koganei Station, Nishi-Kokubunji Station, and Kunitachi Station on the Chuo Line - formed a project to create a cycling map that connects each line. The map introduces the nature, culture, and recommended shops of the Tama area from the perspective of station staff who know the area well.
There are two routes listed, one connecting Inagi-Nagumanuma Station and the other connecting Kunitachi Station. Be sure to check out the shops and sights in Inagi City along the route!
A Nambu Line staff member will demonstrate how to pack a bicycle onto a train.
We will have a test run booth where even those with no experience of road bikes or cross bikes can try them out.
This is a lesson on how to ride road bikes safely, run by CYCLE COMMUNE TOKYO (CC TOKYO), a members-only community that connects people to enjoy cycling. (These lessons are also open to non-members.)
The instructor will be a former professional road racer. Beginners, as well as experienced cyclists, can participate as an opportunity to check their own riding skills. Advance applications are accepted until Thursday, September 26th.
Please take this course and enjoy a safe and fulfilling cycling life. And please try out the courses shown on the original maps that will be distributed at this event!
From 9:00am to 11:30am at Inagi Pair Park (please see the application form for details)
