Save your life from fire! residential fire alarm

Last updated: September 7, 2023

In Inagi City, the Fire Prevention Ordinance has made it mandatory for all residences to be equipped with residential fire alarms from April 1, 2010.
Although the installation rate of residential fire alarms in Inagi City in FY2020 was approximately 95%, there are still some residences that do not have them installed.
Various success stories have been reported by installing residential fire alarms, which provide early warning of the occurrence of a fire, and enable effective evacuation and early extinguishing.
If you haven't installed one yet, install one right away to protect your precious lives and property from house fires.

Please refer to this for the location of residential fire alarms.

Let's take care of it regularly

If a residential fire alarm is covered with "dust" or "spider web", it will be difficult to detect a fire. If dirt is conspicuous, wipe it off with a dry cloth or a cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out.

let's test

Please test it about once a month to confirm operation.
You can check whether the alarm sounds by pressing the button or pulling the pull cord on a residential fire alarm.

A case where a fire did not occur because a residential fire alarm was installed

Case 1
Because he went out without confirming that the cigarette butts had disappeared, a large amount of cigarette butts accumulated in the ashtray began to smolder, and the smoke triggered the residential fire alarm. When the fire brigade entered, it was on the verge of a fire.

Case 2
I fell asleep in another room with the stove on, and my neighbor noticed the alarm and called 119. The fire brigade entered and extinguished the stove, so the fire did not start.

Case 3
While I was sleeping with the electric stove on, the futon came into contact with the stove and smoke came out, filling the room with smoke. I was awakened by the alarm sound of the alarm installed in the kitchen, poured water from the kitchen into the kettle, and was on the verge of starting a fire.
