Could you tell me about joining the National Pension System?

All residents of Japan aged 20 to 60 are required to enroll in the National Pension Plan.

Those who must join

1. Category 1 insured persons Farmers/self-employed persons and their spouses, unemployed persons, students, etc.
2.Those enrolled in Category 2 Insured Employees' Pension
3. Spouse supported by Category 3 insured person Category 2 insured person

Those who wish to join

1.Those aged between 60 and 65 who want to get closer to the full amount of their old-age basic pension, or who have not qualified for the pension (for those born before April 1, 1965, until the qualified period is met before reaching the age of 70) can join)
Note: Only those who are not enrolled in the welfare pension on the application date.
2. Japanese citizens between the ages of 20 and 65 who live abroad

If you become a primary insured person

1. Where to apply: Fuchu Pension Office, City Hall Insurance and Pension Division, Hirao Branch Office, Wakabadai Branch Office
2. What you need (1) Identification documents (My Number card, driver's license, etc.) and basic pension number notification or pension book (2) Official documents showing the date of retirement such as certificate of loss of eligibility, retirement certificate, separation notice, etc. (3) If you are 60 years old or older but under 70 years old, your deposit (savings) passbook and registered seal Note: You can apply for the procedure electronically from Mynaportal (excluding procedures for those 60 years old or older). Go to "You can apply for the national pension procedure electronically (you can apply anytime on your smartphone or PC)" Note: If you reach the age of 20, the Japan Pension Service will send you a notice of enrollment, a basic pension number notification, a payment slip, etc.

If you become a Category 2 or 3 insured person

Please complete the enrollment procedures through your employer or your spouse's place of employment.
